DIY Monogram Dish Towels

Last spring, I posted a diy project with dish towels which you can read about here.  These towels have been the ones I reach for day after day.  They have washed well and the design has held up through countless washings and bleach.  They came 5 in a pack and I still had 2 left to play around with.  As you can see, I procrastinated a lot.

Monograms come in so many styles and I really like the variety found here.   Yesterday, I played around on the computer and came up with a couple of new monograms on paint.net

I really like the way this one turned out.  I used navy fabric paint and the font is Times New Roman.  To make the dots, I used the letter o in a smaller font.

I have tried to remember which font I used to make this one.  It is most similar to Edwardian.  To make the outer ring, I followed an idea that was in Woman's' Day, which by the way, has come a long way.  The directions recommended using a spray adhesive to secure the doily to the fabric before painting.  Woops, forgot that step and you can see a smear or two, but overall, I like the affect the doily pattern gives.

I'm not going to post the steps for using freezer paper again.  If you want to see the how to, go here.

Have you done any projects using freezer paper?
