Hello to all of Rene's fabulous readers!

I'm so happy that Rene asked me to do a guest post. Flattered, actually :)

Today, I'm excited to share with all of you one of my most favorite ways to adorn the walls of my home and the homes of my clients. With kid's art!!

Is there anything that brings more fun and whimsy to a room than your kids?? I know they bring sand, germs, and dirt, and lots of other messy stuff too, but showcasing their work is one of the ways to savor at least one of the great parts of being a parent.

Nothing makes me happier than incorporating the bold creations of a two year old into a seriously designed space. I love to see their creations taken seriously and framed and matted. Imagine how special they feel when their work is incorporated into your permanent decor in a non-magnet on the fridge sort of way.

Their creations can most certainly hold their own. My daughter's work looks right at home on the wall in our family room amongst the pieces created by more serious, and professional artists.

Sometimes you might not even know the difference.

Can you spot the kid's art?

This one....

OR this one....

Ok. Maybe it is easier than I thought to spot the "real" one, but still, the kids art is pretty darn close!!

The care free time of being a child is so short lived. We have to savor it. Before we know it, they're well on their way to grown up town and the freedom of expression won't come as easily.

I find myself envious of my daughter's carefree spirit with her paint brushes.

Although, sometimes her care free spirit leads her to eating the paint.

I couldn't paint these if I tried....

Do you see a long legged bird? I do.

I wonder if she was even thinking about sunsets, yet somehow, that is what she created.

If you feel that you can't go hog wild framing all of their worthy creations, here is another fun idea...

This feature wall that I put together last summer cost me a total of $48!!

I found the large frame at Hobby Lobby on clearance for $18 and then I had a piece of plywood cut for the backing that cost $10. The fabric was a remnant that I found for $6 and it just happened to match the green on the walls (putting fabric on the back makes it possible for you to make 900 nail holes and never have to fill them) The gold Louis style frame is from my favorite local, ArtWorks Kenosha. The white frames were Goodwill finds that I spray painted. Each one was around $3.

This wall changes constantly and the empty frames can be filled with any one of her seasonal creations.

Remember, the goal is to sing their praises and to incorporate their creations into your permanent decor. If you do, you're bound to come home to a place that really makes you smile.

Thanks again Rene for asking me over to your fabulous blog today!

Feel free to stop by my blog or my website to see more of my budget friendly ideas for your home.

Kelle, I have to say this post brought tears.  You are so right about children and their carefree spirit.  Wish we could all hold onto that a little longer.  Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us today!

Wow!  This has been a great week filled with talented guests!  I am truly honored that each of them made the time to stop by this week.  I hope you all enjoyed reading the posts as much as I did.

Happy weekend!
