Our Microwave Died

Yes, it is true.  It died.  While losing our microwave isn't that big of a deal...it sort of is.  I've always wanted a hood instead of a microwave over the stove.  Apparently you aren't supposed to put a microwave over a gas stove according to code?

There are so many great looking hoods too.  That's something we don't say about microwaves :).

If the microwave comes down and is replaced with a hood, then the bead board back splash will either need to be re-worked OR my dream of taking the granite back splash down and installing tile might finally come true.

If we do go with a hood, we still need a microwave and a place to put it.

I really like the idea of enclosing it in the cabinetry, but this cannot call for a complete kitchen makeover.

I suppose if we do go back to the microwave above the stove scenario, we will opt for the stainless version this time.

AND, if we do go back to this scenario, that doesn't make me want to take down the granite back splash and bead board and replace it with tile any less.
