Susan G. Komen Update

 

I just wanted to share an update about the walk that I am participating in this October to benefit Susan G. Komen.  Last night we hosted a fund raiser at a local restaurant and invited friends and their families to come and dine with a percentage of the sales going toward our team goal.  Don't you love the pink wig?  Our fearless leader showed up last night wearing it and was all the rage.

We had lots of fun seeing friends there supporting this great cause.  The children received tattoos.  There were raffle drawings and door prizes. 

Most of my teammates have reached their goal.  I am only 1/4 of the way there.  While it is very difficult to ask people for help, seriously, it is possibly my greatest weakness, I cannot do this without help.  If you have donated, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

My teammates have all been touched in some way by breast cancer.  Some have lost loved ones.  One has recently been through 3 surgeries and chemotherapy.  My reason for walking is to represent those whose lives have been changed by the disease.
