This week is off to a very unproductive start and this is not the time of the year to lose momentum. If you could only see our dining room and the piles of junk sitting everywhere. We received an early Christmas present that I love - a Federal sideboard. Anyway, long story short, moving dishes from one piece of furniture to another in the dining room somehow evolved into cleaning the kitchen cabinets. It's the old "Give a Mouse a Cookie" routine. So now we have huge mess and I really want to decorate for Christmas.
OK, moving on. Layla from The Lettered Cottage is hosting a mantle party and we are all invited. Even though this image is from my mantle last year ~ thanks to my compulsive cleaning frenzy and because picasa ran out of storage space and is fixed now by the way ~ I am hoping to find inspiration at the party for our 2010 mantle. Honestly, I usually do the same thing year after year which involves a wreath, greenery, and lots of candles. It is too early to bring in fresh greenery, but when I do, my 2010 mantle for all practical purposes may end up looking like the one above, ha!
Did you know that mantle can be spelled mantel and mantle? I learned something new today.
