Banquette Inspiration For My Friend Laura

My friend and neighbor is in the early stages of a kitchen remodel. She has picked out the cabinetry, counter-tops, and sink, but still has those nagging little decisions to make such as light placement, fixtures, wall color, etc. The other day she asked me to walk down and talk about a few things. It is always nice to have someone help you think through what seems like life changing details.

In the remodel, she is including a banquette so we were trying to figure out the dimensions keeping in mind the new table and the room size. By the way, Laura has 3 boys, 2 of them are twins, and they are all as cute as can be. I can just picture those guys all gathered around the table on the banquette with Miss Laura running from stove to table trying to keep them fed in a few years. When we remodeled our kitchen years ago, we added a banquette (which now looks like this) and have never once regretted it. When our boys and their swim friends pile in around the table for spaghetti dinners and pancake breakfasts, it is money well spent.
