Just a Tease

Well, this little project is taking longer than expected.  So far, the curtains are made as you can see.  Yesterday I finished the final details on the duvet cover and am thrilled with the result.  The stitches aren't perfectly straight, but overall, I am happy.  What do you think about the bed?  I sold the trundle bed on craigs and replaced it with one that Mom found.  It was chippy and white when I got it and I gave it a coat of glossy black.  This is my favorite bed in the house now.  Lucky boy.

The curtains are made from a sheet that I found one day while picking up shipping supplies at Walmart.  A king size sheet is perfect for two panels.  I just cut it down the middle and sewed a three inch hem at the top for a rod pocket.

The duvet is made from 90" premium muslin from Joann's.  A border of single ply bias tape in navy dressed that thing right up.  I will share more as it is finished.

I finally tried my hand at the monogram project that I posted last week.  If you are considering giving it a try, go for it.  It was easy to do and took less than an hour.

If you follow on facebook, then you know that I recently won a giveaway from Lisa at the blog, Shine Your Light.  (Thank you Lisa!)  I am planning a little art gallery to the left of the bed and found just the piece to add to it.

This quote says it all, especially for a tween - and even for a hopeless diy-er ;)
