Thank you to everyone who voted for my dining room. Odds are that I will not win, but it doesn't hurt to try - so thank you for your support. Also, thank so much to those who have tweeted and posted about the contest. I really appreciate it more than you know!
It is rainy, snowy, and unseasonably cold here in Greensboro today. The flowers in the garden are shivering, but seem to glow even brighter against the gray day that surrounds them.
This is a vine that grows over our front door. It is Clematis Armandi and is one of the only varieties that is an evergreen. Every March it blooms and the flowers give just a hint of fragrance that tells me spring is here.
Here is a picture of our front porch taken last summer. I get a lot of questions about the paint color on the door. It is Benjamin Moore, whythe blue. To prove what a small it world it is, my neighbor, who had no idea that I had a blog, googled images of blue doors and found my blog. She recognized the door and immediately emailed me. Several people have inquired about the house color too. To be honest, we have lost the paint can. So when the time comes to paint, we will have to pull a chip off the house and have it matched. As you can see, it isn't a true white, but more of a light taupe or putty.
In other news, this is the image I saw Sunday morning when I opened the shade. Apparently we were forked.
After a closer look it turns out that we were forked...and spooned...and knifed. Oh the joys of teenagers! I mean this sincerely. Being a mother of 12 and 15 year old boys is an absolute joy! I'm thinking this was pay back for rolling someone's house the previous night. This might go back and forth a few more times. Really, it is all in good fun - and fun it was.
