The Dining Room

The dining room is finally finished, well as far as painting is concerned.  It took forever to pick a paint color.  There must be a million and twelve grays out there and I like just about all of them.  Needless to say, this wasn't easy, but I am absolutely thrilled with the color I chose.  Also, painting the wall below the chair rail white was probably the best upgrade in the room.  For a while now, I have wanted to add picture molding on the lower portion of the wall, but for now a coat of white will buy my husband some time.  This is a hint because he reads the blog.

Before I show you the dining room, I thought you might like to see the before.

Not bad, but kind of boring.  We got rid of the table and chairs "set", which by the way, I will never buy a set again.  I wanted a collected look in here with a fresh vibe so we pulled a table out of storage that was made by a local craftsman.  We also scored some old chairs and gave them an update with fabric and paint.  The china cabinet is now in another spot and was replaced with the sideboard.

Here is the after.  We still need a few things, but overall it is such an improvement.

***Added*** the room details are available here.
