Meet my client. He prefers furniture over dog beds. And who could blame him?
Seriously, this is a master bedroom that I recently finished a mood board for. My client actually discovered me on Pinterest, then saw my add with Living Social. It turns out that we live in the same neighborhood. Talk about small world. I really enjoyed getting to know her and planning the new look for the master bedroom. She likes a beachy vibe, but wanted to inject color - specifically coral. The room was reading very cool to me so I recommended a few things to balance it all. And, yes, I kept our four-legged friend in mind in the plan.
My client was considering getting rid of the bed (brass). I talked her down from the bridge because it is such a cool bed. The brass finish adds warmth which is needed in this room. Please overlook the pillows. We were playing around with scale, etc. when I snapped this picture. The bedding is the pintuck duvet that we all know and love from West Elm. The plan is to layer in some pillows in natural linen and the multicolor suzani.
The current night stands are dwarfed by the king size bed. By getting rid of the large sofa and chair on the opposite side of the room and replacing it with a chaise lounge - there will be more room for larger night stands. The lamps are a warm neutral instead of the glass lamps that were there originally. The mirrors are going to be hung opposite from a wall of windows and will bring in more light. And lastly, the custom window shades will be made in a natural damask and trimmed with coral ribbon.
My client liked the plan and is going forward with it. I cannot wait to see it all come together!
