A Friend's Living Room

I was recently asked to help a friend/neighbor with her living room.  She wanted to recover her existing sofa and chairs and rework the layout of the room to make it more useable.  I love working on projects like this that are close to home because the homes in my neighborhood are all very similar yet very unique at the same time.

This image shows the newly recovered sofa and chairs.  I found the fabrics at 1502 in High Point and they worked perfectly with the existing rug.  My friend wanted the room to have a serene feel with a bit of freshness.  Nothing crazy or extremely colorful.

For starters, we chose BM Coastal Fog for the walls.  The new arrangement left us with few options for lighting placement and because the room has the space, I recommended a sofa table with large lamps.  I have used these lamps from World Market several times and really like them.  I will say that they look much different in person than on the website - by the way, they are no longer available on-line?

A few other details - the pillows are all from etsy.  The round mirror will add a different shape to the room, breaking up the squares.  The barrel table will go between the two swivel chairs.  The coffee table is obviously, well, a coffee table.  We are also planning to work on the built-ins by changing the color and style it up a bit.  This has been a slow process making small changes a little at a time.  Sometimes those are the best projects.
