We just returned from an absolutely wonderful beach weekend. As with any family weekend, I didn't want it to end. I realize that our days are numbered as a family of four. This time next year our oldest son will be in college. I'm one of those mothers who cries about things. Letting go is hard - even when you know they are more than prepared for the next phase in life. I'll miss these family trips so much. The late night sillies from all being crammed into a tiny hotel room. The long car rides that find us all singing along to the playlist. Exploring new places together. I'm crying now. Make that ugly crying. Can't help it. Everyone warned me that they would grow up fast. But, there is just no way of knowing how very fast it happens. This all really hit home when last night I read Emily's Saturday Six.
Guess that means we have less than 50 Saturdays left. Gulp. Thank you for letting me share.
