When I shared the final reveal of the ORC, a few of you had questions about the layered window treatments. In this picture you see the curtains & match stick blinds. What you do not see is the Redi-shade that we installed several years ago.
The Redi-shade is a block out shade which both Mr. and I really like. It tucks neatly up at the top of the window facing each morning and comes down at night. Its light blocking qualities are something we could not live/sleep without. Even though it retracts to a thin sliver of a shade, I wanted something to cover it completely. Which is why we added the match stick shades.
The match stick shades are hung above the window casing which conceals the Red-shade. The only time this looks weird is when the the shade is down at night and we are the only ones who see it.
By day, no one would even know it is there.
I really like the extra layer of texture and warm color the match stick blind adds. I also like the tiny bit of privacy we gain when it is down while still allowing natural light to come through.
I hope this answers your questions.
