The Potting Bench and the Rose

With a name like cottage and vine, I guess that by now you have figured out that I like vines.  Today I will share another one with you.

This is where it all goes down ~ the gardening that is...or at least the potting.  This is the potting bench that my husband built for me, ahem, along time ago.  It is one of my favorite little spots in the garden!  Pots and pails are stored here along with potting soil and tools.  It has everything that I need when it comes to planting my containers.

What makes it even more special is the David Austin rose that has joined hands with a Crepe Myrtle to form an arch overhead.

I really didn't plan it that way, but in the garden, sometimes you get lucky.

It is truly a blessing to plant my containers on the bench that my sweetie made, under a beautiful rose.

Remember to enter the giveaway that ends Tuesday.  For details go here.

A sweet friend stopped by today and left these.

They are from his mother's heirloom German Johnson tomatoes.  His mother passed away two years ago, but her tomatoes live on.  Each year, he saves the seed and starts new plants to share with friends.  Isn't this an inspiration?

Have a great weekend!

I am sharing with A Southern Daydreamer and The Inspired Room.
