Art Walls: Hanging Art Around a Thermostat

With all of the craziness of the work week, the ORC coming near its end, and life in general, I decided to hang a few pictures yesterday.  We have this spot like all of us do...the wall with the thermostat.  For quite a while there has been only one picture hanging there.  Until yesterday.

This is the wall you first see when exiting the downstairs bathroom.  The pictures were castoffs from other parts of the house just waiting for their place to shine.

I love going from room to room and seeing this little bright spot here.  Not sure what took me so long.

And here is the shot coming from the master bedroom, which by the way, I made great progress on last night.  Let's do this!  Remember this light?  By the way, the flower painting in the background was made by my step father.  Isn't he good?

What I also love about this little wall is that each piece reminds me of a time in my life.  The one on top is an illustration of our home from the artist pve which I treasure!  The abstract is from my friend Heather.  And the tiny painting is from a street vendor in Paris brought back to me by my old boss at Girbaud.

You may remember the picture of Mr. and me.  The picture on the very bottom was painted by a close friend of my late father.  While we are in the hallway, I must mention that my favorite piece of original art here is quite possibly the one hanging over the coat rack painted many years ago by our now 17 year old son.  It was his version of spring, summer, fall and winter and always makes me smile.
